Car Hire Battersea

To hire a car in Battersea, you will need to be between 25 and 65 years of age and hold a full DVLA driving licence that you have held for at least two years. If your age falls just outside this bracket, it is worth calling our Battersea branch, as we may be able to refer your details to our insurers, though additional charges can apply in those cases.

When you arrive to collect your hire car in Battersea, you will need to bring:

Car hire excess insurance is not a legal requirement when you rent in the UK, but many drivers choose to add it. Every car you hire from Fairview includes basic insurance covering third-party liability as standard, and this carries an excess in the event of an accident or damage. To reduce that liability, you can add one of our optional protection packages, and these need to be selected at the time of booking, as they cannot be added once your hire has started.

Yes, you can rent a car in Battersea using a debit card, as long as the card is in the name of the main hirer. We accept both debit and credit cards at the branch. Business customers who would prefer to pay on account or by Direct Debit can arrange this with the team, subject to prior agreement from us.

In many cases, same-day car hire in Battersea is possible at Farview. If your own car has broken down or a trip has come up at short notice, call our Battersea branch and we will check what is ready to collect. Booking ahead is still the surest way to secure a particular model, especially over weekends and holiday periods when demand is higher.

You will collect your hire car from our Battersea branch at Ingate Place, London, SW8 3NS, a short distance from Queenstown Road station. Every car leaves our Battersea branch with a full tank of fuel, and we ask that you return it with a full tank as well. If the car comes back with less than a full tank, the shortfall will be charged at the AA’s highest recorded pump price on the day of return, with a 20% administration fee added on top. To avoid this, we would recommend filling up at a petrol station near the branch shortly before you return the car.

If your circumstances change, you are welcome to move your car hire booking to a future date free of charge. Should you need to cancel altogether, a charge of 30% of the total hire cost will apply. Any cancellation made within 48 hours of your scheduled collection will result in the full payment being retained.

During busy periods such as school holidays, bank holidays, Easter and Christmas, bookings cancelled within seven days of collection are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
