- A 10% deposit is required to secure your booking.

Congestion Charge in London
If you will be driving into central London, you will need to pay the congestion charge, which is separate from any emissions charge.
- Cost: £18 per day, paid in advance or by midnight on the day of travel.
- Hours: 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, and 12 pm to 6 pm on weekends and bank holidays. There is no charge between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
- Where: the central zone, roughly bounded by the Inner Ring Road, covering the City, West End and surrounding areas.

ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone)
The Ultra Low Emission Zone covers a far larger area: every London borough, across most of Greater London inside the M25.
- Cost: £12.50 per day for non-compliant cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Who pays: petrol cars that do not meet Euro 4 and diesel cars that do not meet Euro 6. Most cars registered from around 2015 onwards are already compliant.
- Good news for Fairview customers: the Fairview fleet is ULEZ compliant, so you will not pay the daily ULEZ charge on a car hired from us.

Parking in London
Parking in London is controlled and mostly paid, so it’s important to know the basics before you set off in your hired car.
Pay by phone and app: Most boroughs use RingGo or a similar app, paying using the location code shown on nearby signs.
Check the bay and the times: Park restrictions in London vary by street and by borough, so read the signs before you leave the car, and avoid residents-only spaces.

How do I book and return a car for hire?
To book a car:
Choose the type of car you would like to hire and specify the rental period.
Complete the booking form with your personal details and submit the request.
You can also book by contacting us directly via phone or email.To return the car:
Return the car to the agreed location at the end of your hire period.
Ensure the car is in the same condition as when it was hired, including refuelling it to the same level if required.
Complete any necessary return paperwork and hand over the keys. -
What is the minimum age requirement for car hire?
We require all drivers to be between 23 and 75 with a valid driving licence for at least two years. Young and senior drivers (23-24 and 71-75) are subject to a surcharge to ensure the safety of the vehicle and the passengers.

What insurance is included? And are there any extras I should be aware of?
All hired cars from Fairview come with basic insurance included, which covers third-party liability. Depending on your trip, you may want to add cover or extras:
- Excess cover: Basic insurance leaves you liable for an excess if the car is damaged.
- Additional drivers: You can add extra drivers to the agreement before booking. Each must meet the same age and licence requirements.
- European travel: Driving outside the UK will need prior approval from us and additional insurance. Arrange this with our team before your booking date.
