What is the minimum age requirement to hire a vehicle?
To hire a vehicle with Fairview Vehicle Hire, you must be aged between 23 and 75. Please note that drivers under the age of 25 and over the age of 69 are subject to a surcharge. This is to protect the safety of your passengers and our vehicles.

What documentation do I need to hire a vehicle?
To hire a vehicle at Fairview, you’ll need the following documents:
- A valid UK driving licence or an international licence if you’re from outside the UK
- Proof of address dated within the last 3 months, such as a utility bill or bank statement
- A valid credit or debit card for payment and deposit

What insurance options are included in the vehicle rental?
Basic insurance is included with your vehicle rental, which typically covers third-party liability and Personal Accident Insurance (PAI). However, you may need additional coverage for excess fees, business rentals or if you plan to travel outside the UK.

Are there any restrictions on where I can drive the vehicle?
You can drive our vehicles within the UK, and some of our vehicles may be available for travel in Europe. However, certain vehicles have restrictions on international travel, so please check with us before planning any long-distance or international trips.

What should I do in the event of an accident or if the vehicle breaks down?
If your hire vehicle experiences a breakdown or any mechanical issue during your hire, please contact us immediately. All our vehicles come with roadside assistance, and for breakdowns, you should contact our emergency number provided in your rental agreement. Fairview must be notified within 2 hours of an accident taking place. Call our emergency number to report the incident.

When do I get my deposit back after returning the vehicle?
Once the vehicle is returned and inspected, your deposit will typically be refunded within 3-5 working days. The refund will be made to the same payment method used for the deposit, provided the vehicle is returned in the same condition.
