Fairview Vehicle Hire provides basic third-party liability insurance with every rented vehicle. Your initial quote already includes the insurance cost, so there are no hidden fees. If you intend to use the vehicle for business or commercial purposes, or plan to travel outside mainland UK (England, Wales, and Scotland), you may require additional insurance. Please inform us ahead of your booking so we can arrange the appropriate level of cover for your hire agreement.

We also offer a range of optional add-on insurance products for customers who want enhanced protection or reduced excess.

Every vehicle hired through Fairview Vehicle Hire includes roadside assistance and breakdown cover. Once your booking is confirmed and your rental agreement is signed, we will provide you with an emergency contact number to use in the event of a breakdown. If you are involved in an accident, please call the emergency number within 2 hours of the incident, regardless of how minor it may seem.

Breakdown cover is only provided for vehicles driven within the UK. If you plan to travel internationally, you will need to arrange your own breakdown cover through providers such as AA, RAC, or Green Flag. However, we can offer European Travel Coverage (ETC). Please contact us directly if you would like to enquire about ETC.

Yes. Fairview Vehicle Hire can arrange European Travel Coverage (ETC), allowing you to take our vehicles to the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe. ETC is limited to these regions, and you must provide at least 72 hours’ notice before leaving the UK with a Fairview vehicle.

Please contact us directly for an ETC quote. The cost will depend on the country zone you are travelling to, the duration of your trip, the level of cover required, and the type of vehicle you are hiring.

You can add a range of optional extras to your rental agreement, including a Collision Damage Waiver, Premium Protection, additional drivers, excess reduction, and an airport surcharge. We can also supply child seats as required.

You can add as many additional drivers as you need to your rental agreement. Additional drivers can be added at checkout, but each driver must present a valid driving licence and meet our rental criteria.

To qualify, additional drivers must meet the minimum age requirement of 25, or alternatively pay a Young Driver Surcharge if younger than 25 but older than 23. They must also have a clean insurance record, provide a valid form of identification alongside their licence, and supply proof of address dated within the last three months.

Standard Fairview Vehicle Hire rentals are limited to 250 miles per day. If you exceed this, an additional charge of £0.40 per mile will apply.

We also offer unlimited mileage packages, giving you the flexibility to enjoy your journey without worrying about extra costs.

The hirer is responsible for all fines, penalty charges, and parking fees incurred while using a rented vehicle, in accordance with Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

If your flight is delayed or cancelled, please contact us as soon as possible with your updated arrival time and flight number. We will monitor your flight to ensure your vehicle is ready and waiting when you arrive.
