What are the age restrictions for hiring a minibus?
The minimum age requirement for hiring a minibus is 23 years old at Fairview Vehicle Hire. Please note, young drivers are subject to a surplus charge in order to protect the vehicle and passengers to the best of our ability.

Can I hire a driver with the minibus?
Fairview Vehicle Hire primarily offers self-drive minibus hire. If you require a driver, you may need to arrange this separately. If you are interested in our chauffeur service, please contact us.

How much luggage space do your minibuses have?

Can you hire a minibus with a normal Licence?
Yes, you’re able to hire a minibus with your standard (category B) driver’s licence if certain criteria is met.
- You must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- The minibus is 3.5 tonnes or less.
- You must have held your licence for a minimum of two years.
- You cannot tow a trailer.
- The minibus cannot be used for commercial use.
- You must meet the “Group 2” medical standards.

What should I do in case of an accident or breakdown?
In the event of an accident or breakdown, don’t panic, your safety and that of your passengers is the top priority. Please follow these steps:
- Ensure Safety First – Move to a safe location if possible and switch on your hazard lights.
- Call Emergency Services – If anyone is injured or if there is significant damage, call 999 immediately.
- Contact us – Notify our team as soon as possible by calling us on 01932 36 12 12.
- Document the Incident – Gather details such as the time, location and circumstances of the incident. Take photos of the damage and get contact details of any third parties or witnesses.
- Do Not Admit Liability – Leave the insurance assessment to us.

When do I get my deposit back after returning the minibus?
Once the minibus is returned and has been inspected for any damage and fuel discrepancies, we’ll process your deposit refund. This typically happens within 3 to 5 working days, depending on your payment method and bank processing times.
If there are any issues that may affect the return of your deposit, such as damage or the vehicle being returned late, we’ll contact you to discuss it.
